LIAH #842
everyone has heroes. people they look up to. theses heroes are more than men. they're gods. Brett Favre is my hero. he played 16 years in Green Bay and established himself as possibly the greatest quarterback in the history of the game. at least solidly in the top 4 with dan marino, johnny unitas, and joe montana that can't be argued. but then, he came to the New York Jets. the "second" team in new york. one of the most punished franchises by the football gods. we had one super bowl forty years ago, but sadly the rest has been heartache. severe heartache. i tell this story constantly, but never have i ever been affected by a loss from one of my teams than when the jets lost to the steelers in the second round of the playoffs, losing the chance to go to the afc championship game. i love them with all my heart, and i always will. but finally, we're given hope. being talked about becoming a legitimate contender, and not just in the afc east. we're number one in the afc east, for now that is. 7-3 is a good record. but lets see where this can go. lets see if my prayers can finally be answered. i havent had a championship team in a long time. i was 9 when the yankees won in 2000. that was half of my lifetime ago. i'm ready for it. i've been craving it like nothing else. and a man, no a god, named Brett Favre is making the road to the greatest day of my life slightly more possible.
