days like sunday are why i love sports. when all the pieces come together, it really just makes me a happy man. the jets. wow. playing some awesome football. playing through adversity. playing with a lead and then coming from behind. mark sanchez, not giving a fuck and running head first into the endzone. quarterbacks dont do that, and probably shouldn't, but mark sanchez leaves everything on the field. with all that, we beat the titans sunday and went 3-0. and to truly cap off the day, the yankees finished a sweep of the red sox and clinched the division. and the islanders start their season saturday. sunday? i'm seeing blink-182 at madison square garden. damn. andrew southard is a happy man.

gettin ready for the j-e-t-s tomorrow. tennessee is a hungry team, but the jets are a better team. lets hope they pull it out go 3-0. it was a pretty solid weekend. the zman came down and we saw no one and the somebodies in bushwick. it was many levels of awesome. so a jets win tomorrow would really just make this weekend sick. because then monday i get to repent. repent? what? yom kippur. get in the know.

9 out of 10 times, the trailer is better than the movie. right away terminator salvation sticks out. awesome trailer. not so awesome movie. smokin aces is one. ghost rider. yes ghost rider. nic cage kicking ass while his head is on fire could be an awesome combination. too bad the fights in ghost rider consisted of nic cage staring into the souls of each of his enemies, and they would explode or something. if they put even an ounce of thought into making a cool fight scene, there is a chance i would have enjoyed ghost rider. either way, it was still a cool trailer. now when a trailer is bad, every now and then it could just be bad marketing. i really don't know how you can get a good movie out of this.

am i the only one? if you saw in that trailer this shit won grand jury at sundance? and it won the toronto film festival. so now everyone is saying oscar? are you fucking serious. if they actually put together a good movie out of that, i'd be impressed. let alone an oscar contender? i put that trailer on facebook a while ago thinking that it was hysterical. for so many reasons. 1, "i want a light skinned boyfriend". 2, moniques acting. 3, that part where monique turns around with the cigarette. 4, mariah carey's acting. 5, the last part where shes like your baby loves you! i love you! on all levels, this movie is going to be shit. but hey, surprise me lee daniels. go for it.

what a proud, proud day it was for fans of the New York Jets. for all fellow fans, true fans, you don't need me to tell you how good sunday felt. it is not easy being a jets fan. it really isn't. out of the teams i follow, easily the most heartbreaking team. it's easy to be like hey douchebag you're an islanders fan haha! that's no cakewalk either, but i'm talking heartbreaking. true, sick to your stomach, pain. anger. the opposite of happiness. the 2005 playoff game against pittsburgh, we had two field goal chances to make it to the afc championship. john hall. DOUCHEBAG. being afc super bowl favorite after beating the pats and undefeated at the time titans, only to end the season 0-4. eric mangina. DOUCHEBAG. chad pennington.
ah chad pennington. chad pennington i will, never, ever, call a douchebag. i grew up with chad pennington. couldn't throw for shit. always getting injured. but hey, he always put in a good fight. sometimes. when he was healthy at least. even though he's in enemy colors now, chad will always have a special place in my heart.

ok first of all, it was not john hall who missed the two field goals that would've sent the jets to the afc championship. that distinction belongs to doug brien.
second of all, the jets did not end the season last year 0-4, they lost 4 out of 5 games to end the season. they lost to denver and SF, then they beat the bills, and then they lost to seattle and miami. get your shit straight man.

happy new year to those who celebrate it. i never really understood it, being a member of the tribe. its not that i don't understand it, new year, start reading from beginning of the torah, big deal i guess. forget christmas vs. hanukah, christianity has us absolutely pwned on celebrating the new year. we go to temple and in a week starve ourselves. its just not the proper way to party. irritating, but what can you do. well, the jets game is 2 days. i want to see the return of the new york sack exchange. and i want to see it bad.

i don't have class on wednesdays, i did pretty much nothing today. it was sweet. a tad bit of homework, but a tad bit of homework never hurt anyone. i've got to read the iliad. yeah, kind of whack. you gotta do what you gotta do though. i only know three homers, homer, homer bush, and homer simpson. and they're all pretty chill dudes in my book. whose homer bush? come on.

ah the long monday. had one already, now its time for round 2. i've actually got shit to do this time, so its not that bad. and what consists of my shit to do? write a new liah! well, first off, you ready? j, e, t, s, JETS JETS JETS. YES. mark sanchez, the new york sack exchange, mark sanchez, fucking alright. i couldn't watch most of the game due to being in fucking worcester, but i got to listen to the second half. and i watched the highlights about 72 times. you know what i won't be missing? jets vs pats this sunday. ah. football season is back, and thank god for that. the headline on the daily news is, A STAR IS BORN. they put it in all capitals, not me, but it is quite necessary. i know, it's only week 1 of a long season, but things are looking good.
rescue me season 5, best season yet? easily the best season since 2, but quite possibly the best of the series. i've only got a couple episode left and they get better and better. if you fell out of it this season like i did, i highly suggest you check it out.
i've also decided that if burger king ever needs new writers for the clever little things they put on cups, bags, burger wrappers, i'm their man. seriously. burger king you out there? i respect your work very much and would love to come join the team. my only condition is that the angry tendercrisp sandwich never leaves the menu. ever.
