i really feel the need to recap from yesterday a bit. for those under a rock, the US won in dramatic fashion yesterday 1-0 to advance in the World Cup. landon "captain america" donovan scored the game winner in the 91st minute of play. it was incredible. a moment like that? the only things that come straight to mind are aaron boone's walk off homerun and, well, that's about it. i'm a jets and an islanders fan which pretty much offer nothing but heartache. but i love them to death.
anyway. LANDON FUCKING DONOVAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was at a bar in williamsburg, a bit drunk at 11 in the morning. it was glorious. traffic up front, can it happen, can it? donovan. i had a really shitty day at work, and usually that's when i crave a cigarette. instead i just had that goal replay in my head for a second and i couldn't help smiling. USA baby, USA.

i'm made up of a couple solid rants. then a few mini rants that halfheartedly defend something. one of the latter are my feelings towards ghost rider. i wouldn't say i'm a religious reader of ghost rider by any means, but i definitely read the books for a while.
the script was absolute trash. one of the worst written movies i've ever witnessed. not even to a point where you can laugh at it, it's just lame. buzzkill.
say what you will, but i'd take nicholas cage over will smith any day. nicholas cage riding a motorcylce on fire can be incredibly badass. they fucked up in the first film.
so what am i getting at? i don't know i just read they were doing a new ghost rider movie keeping nicholas cage in it but they're tossing the director and "old wild western" ghost rider story arc. that's exactly what needed to be done.

one of my absolute favorite books is down and out in paris and london by george orwell. i got it for 48 cents at strand. worth every penny, go check it out.

spent a couple days off of liah. i'm on day 12 though! that's exciting. more exciting is how USA and England is tied 1-1 right now!!!! i'm not a huge soccer fan. i'll watch on occasion. but i am an insane USA soccer fan. it's halftime right now. LET'S DO THIS.

day 7. i haven't had a cigarette in seven days. i miss them. i really miss my cigarettes. "my" cigarettes. that's terrible. but it is nice not hacking up a lung in the morning. and feeling healthy? yeah whatever, it takes 22 days to break a habit, let's get there and talk. let's get to day 44 and talk. day 100 and talk. day where i've lost count and interest. i look forward to that day.
